2018 Veterans Assistance grant
to WSDOT to create new software to improve accessibility to the reservation software and to update hardware and servers to improve and stabilize accessibility for veterans. $148,000.00
2018 TRPC
for new transit vehicles to be used by RT (Rural Transit). The grant funded 5 new vehicles including 3 20 passenger vehicles with wheelchair lifts, alternative fuel (propane) tablets, cameras and tracking software. Grant award $825,000.
2020 Pierce County Beyond the Borders
The grant funded 6 new vehicles to be used for routed service and for demand service in the rural areas of Pierce County specifically Sumner, Bonney Lake and Spanaway Fredrickson and for Orting Veterans program. In addition two smaller Ford Transit Vehicles with seating for 10 ambulatory vehicles and two wheelchair positions, with alternative fuel, tablets, cameras and tracking software to provide service to the elderly and disabled. $725,000.
2020 MultiCare PACE/ADH program
We obtained 10 (5 hybrids) wheelchair lift equipped mini vans for operations to support the daily operation of the adult day health program. These vehicles were placed into service in 2023 and provide service through out Pierce County. Grant value was $850,000.
2024 Pending Grants. Three grants have been submitted to 2025-27 WSDOT Consolidated
Grants program:
TRPC 8 vehicles with Wheelchairs lifts, alternative fuel or hybrid with vehicles to
provide service to the disabled. The grant includes 5 14 passenger vehicles for routed
service and 3 for demand service. Estimated value $1,250,000.
Pierce County Beyond the Borders 7 vehicles for routed and demand service all
equipped with wheelchair lifts and alternative fuel including cameras, new tablets and
software to support operations. Estimated value $950,000.00.
PACE/ADH. Grant for 4 body on chassis vehicles seating up to 12 passengers with the
ability to transition the vehicle to serve 8 wheelchairs at one time. These vehicles are
designed to serve ambulatory, wheelchair and stretcher passengers. These vehicles are
equipped with alternative fuel, cameras new tablets and includes two Broda
Wheelchair/ stretchers. Estimated value $580,000.00
